Mental Health and Mental Capacity Law Caseworker
WMB Law, an established firm specialising in family law, Criminal Law and Mental Health Law, and we are looking to expand our practice in Mental Health and Mental Capacity Law. We are a dynamic and friendly practice committed to providing a quality service through listening and representing our clients, whether they are legally aided or self-funding. We are inviting passionate and driven professionals to join our team.
Available Positions:
Mental Health Accredited Panel Member with Extensive Court of Protection/Mental Capacity experience – Employed full time or part time position available
Midlands and East procurement areas
- Knowledge and experience representing clients under various sections before Tribunals/hospital managers hearings
- Excellent client care, written, and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of Legal Aid Contract requirements (preferably with LA supervisor experience)
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
- Knowledgeable in Mental Health and Mental Capacity law, organised and able to manage a heavy and mixed workload
- Ability to run a capacity matter from start to finish (a significant portion of our work is by instruction from the Official Solicitor on complex s21A cases)
- Opportunity to work towards ALR Accreditation
- Advocacy before Court of Protection is not essential
Essential: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and Panel Membership for Mental Health roles
Additional Information:
- The nature of this role consists of actively going out to visit clients/attending hearings and meetings as well as office-based working
- Will consider newly accredited and newly qualified candidates with relevant Mental Health and Mental Capacity experience
- Hours: Full-time employee preferred, but part-time roles will be considered
- Salary: Competitive
