Court of Protection (Health and Welfare) Solicitor/Paralegal
Due to continued success, we are looking for a Solicitor or an experienced Paralegal to join our busy and thriving Court of Protection team in Burnley, Lancashire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Court of Protection team handling a caseload of Court of Protection matters ranging from providing advice and assistance in relation to mental capacity, Section 16 applications in addition to Section 21A challenges. You will be expected to carry out the usual tasks when running a case; for example taking instructions, securing appropriate funding, preparing witness statements, instructions to experts, briefing counsel, attending court and meeting with clients. You will often be working with clients who are vulnerable.
As well as handling a Court of Protection caseload there would be an opportunity for those interested to be involved in mental health, community care and inquest cases.
Previous experience in Court of Protection work is desirable but not essential.
A full driving licence and use of a car is essential in this role.
Hybrid of office and remote working.
Salary – Commensurate with experience.
