Mental capacity law develops constantly and there will be many challenges over the coming year, not least of which will be the implementation of the Court of Protection rules, the introduction of Law Society accreditation, and developments regarding Deprivation of Liberty.

Decisions about best interests continue to require specialist knowledge, crossing over the boundaries between medical and legal practice.

For its fourth annual Court of Protection conference, the MHLA has prepared a packed programme of topical issues. The timetable is in preparation and will be announced shortly. We hope you will join us for a stimulating day of debate, to hear speakers at the cutting edge of these issues, and to meet like-minded colleagues.
