Our Case Law update 2017 takes place in both London and Manchester in April. This one-day course focuses on practical application in the day-to-day work of mental health practitioners when representing clients and is delivered by leading mental health lawyers. This is an interactive course, suitable for new and experienced representatives.

We will present case law update for cases from 2016 & 2017, focusing on practical aspects of cases in respect of mental health work. In the afternoon session we ask,”Why do I care about the Care Act?”, and look at practical examples for mental health practitioners.

The final session of the day considers the amended s.135 and s.136 and the effect this has on s.2 admissions to hospital. There will also be an update of recent developments in respect of SRA, GMC and Law Society guidance pertinent to mental health practice.

This course is highly recommended for practitioners of all levels and can be used to demonstrate professional development and learning. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment, as places are limited.

This course will be facilitated by Tam Gill & Neil Cronin (Manchester) / Tam Gill & Sophy Miles (London).
