Expired Regional meeting – North West, 14 May 2018

A regional meeting for MHLA members will be held in Manchester on Monday 14 May 2018.

The meeting will focus primarily on the current consultation on the Tribunal Procedure rules in relation to PHE and paper reviews. This is a highly worrying proposal and will impact severely on the mental health clients that we represent, and even more concerning, disadvantage those who most require the safeguards of full and proper inquisitorial and independent reviews of their detention.

This meeting will enable practitioners to share thoughts and help formulate responses to this consultation. The meeting will also be an opportunity to network with other local practitioners.

The interim report of the Mental Health Act review (published on 1 May 2018) will also be discussed, and the MHLA welcomes this opportunity to listen to the views and opinions of members in respect of this on-going exercise.

The meeting will be held at Garden Court North Chambers, 3rd Floor, Blackfriars House, Parsonage, Manchester M3 2JA

The meeting will be Chaired by Tam Gill, MHLA Chair.

There is no fee for attending the meeting. Refreshments will be provided.
