This course is aimed at all mental health lawyers who are seeking to develop their practice before the Court of Protection, and all those seeking to broaden their knowledge of the deprivation of liberty safeguards (DOLs). The course will cover the legal framework as well as the procedure for making applications to the Court of Protection under section 21A MCA. Topics will include legal aid, representing P and the role of the Accredited Legal Representative. This course will be delivered by Sophy Miles of Doughty Street chambers and Elizabeth Cleaver of Bindmans LLP, both experienced Court of Protection practitioners.
This course will take place via Zoom from 10am-1pm. Course materials will be emailed to delegates in advance.
