We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our specialist Mental Health team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to mental health law and delivering outstanding client care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload and preparing files for billing prior to submission to our dedicated billing department. Some general administrative duties will also form part of the role.

We have vacancies available in both our London and Bristol offices. While local candidates are preferred, we are open to considering strong applicants based outside these areas. Hybrid working arrangements are in place.

Requirements:

Membership of the Law Society’s Mental Health Accreditation Scheme – Essential

Full UK driving licence – Desirable

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience.

2. Court of Protection Solicitor-Consultant

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience, be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for all aspects of Court of Protection work, demonstrating a proactive and self-starting approach.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members, fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Handle proceedings under s.16 and s.21A of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, demonstrating proficiency in this area of work.
  • Regularly collaborate with the Official Solicitor in Court of Protection proceedings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) – Essential.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Court of Protection matters.
  • Mental Capacity (Welfare) Accreditation is a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience in handling proceedings under s.16 and s.21A MCA 2005.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
